CRMA’s first priority is always the health and safety of the students and families at Crooked River. To that end, the following are our updated cleaning practices as well as recommendations on when to attend or not attend classes.
Cleaning
- We will wipe down all chairs, light switches, door knobs and the sticker chart nightly.
- The floors will be washed twice a week for the foreseeable future.
- The bathroom will be wiped down nightly with the usual weekly “regular” cleaning continuing to happen.
We are using Lysol wipes and Lysol disinfectant for both practices.
All students are to use the hand sanitizer by the door when you come into the dojang as well as when you leave. In addition, students are asked to follow the attendance guidelines outlined below.
Attendance
- No one should ever come to karate when you’re under the weather; but this is especially true right now.
- Please stay home if you have had a fever in the last 24 hours, a bad cough, body aches or any flu like symptoms.
- Please stay home if you have any nausea, vomitting or diaherra. (I have not had a student lose their lunch on the mats in 15 years and would like to keep it that way!)
We have not done so in a long time, but please don’t shake hands or hug. Find a cool “alternate” greeting and stay a few feet apart where you can. I know some of the work we do requires close contact, we’ll use hand sanitizer before and after working on Il Soo Sik or Ho Sin Sol.
I believe we all belong to each other in this life. That means we take care of each other no matter what that looks like – being extra cautious and staying home, keeping an eye on our neighbors, etc. Until there is a vaccine times are likely to be a little wild; people are going to be anxious and afraid and may behave differently. Please take a deep breath and work a little harder to be kind and compassionate. Listen to the advice of medical professionals and scientists and wash your hands often. We can all safely get through this if we work together.
