CRMA Temporarily Closing

For the last several days I’ve struggled with whether or not we should stay open despite all the precautions we’ve taken.  Last night I decided that we should temporarily close due to COVID-19.  The decision was based on 2 key factors:

  • We cannot train properly AND maintain safe social distancing.
  • I strongly believe that we have a moral obligation to protect each other and that means laying low.

I really disappointed, I had hoped to stay open and maintain some normalcy in our lives but it is just not safe or wise.  I’m working out a plan on ways to train virtually – give me a few days to set it up and then I’ll send out details.  In the meantime, find a place where you can train – maybe you can easily move some furniture in your family room or clear some space in the basement.  Try to find enough room to be able to do your form or 5 or 6 kicks in a row.

You will need a device that has a camera on it; ideally one that is front facing so that you can see me and I can see you!  Our class schedule will change with this new way of working together; I’ll send it out as soon as I have it sorted out.

I’m also going to be sending out questions and “assignments” regarding philosophy and our history.  We can and will train together, it’s just going to be a little different for awhile.

Our number one responsibility right now is the safety of others; that means staying home, no play dates, no parties, minimal if any company coming over.  If you need to go to the store, only one person goes and changes clothes when coming in the house.  We have to “flatten the curve” as much as possible so that people stay well and the healthcare system is not overwhelmed.  That is our job today!

Feel free to call or text me with questions, to say hello or send me pictures of you training on your own!
